Re: Andre Ayew
So snodgrass had the hump because we played him on the left and ayew gets played on the right even though his natural position is on the left. Sounds like someone in charge doesn't know what he's doing

ED is exactly right
Have mentioned before I've watched Ayew closely in home games and he is a classic hide and seek footballer stealing a living.

One thing I do think he gets too much criticism for is lack of effort. I think he generally gives 100%

That's because you have never played football at any sort of level. Him 'working hard' is basically running around making it look like he is, but in reality he is shirking the real hard work that happens on a football pitch. I've played with many of the sort, cowards who hide and shirk responsibility.

Ayew is crap. Pops up to score the odd goal, but has nothing else to his game. He's like a very very shit version of Frank Lampard playing wide.

Re: Andre Ayew
Key transfer strategy - buy lots of 'wingers', some of whom can make up tne goals due to lack of striker! Ayew, Snodgrass, Tore, Arnie, Antonio, none of whom are genuine wingers.
Their positions are all to vague which is what Billic likes cos he hasn't a clue whay his best side or formation is, so this lot can slot in to different places. Hence Snotgrass alleging when he came on for his first game Billic asked him where he wanted to play! Then promptly played him is an unfavoured position, as with Antonio.

this cunt has looked bang average in every position he's played in the pitch imo

Re: Andre Ayew
Bilicwould be good at Scrabble. He would get lots of X's and Y's because they have the highest value but then realise he cannot create a word. ;-)

Sums up his transfer dealings. Buy players and try to them in even if they are out of position.

He is challenging Roeder and Grant with his ineptitude.

Re: Andre Ayew
He clearly wants to be a floating central attacking player with no defensive responsibility. Like most forwards would like to be. But he's not great there, nor on the flanks, and definitely not up front. You end up with a player who isn't really effective in any position. I totally agree with the OP - he's a headless chicken most of the time.

One thing I do think he gets too much criticism for is lack of effort. I think he generally gives 100%, and I think wherever you play him there's a chance he'll get in the box and finish off chances. Not the worst habit to have, and we might be glad of that at times.

Re: Andre Ayew
Swiss.

It's not just Bilic, BFS used to play players out of position too and it's incredibly frustrating.

It's like they've seen what Wenger did with Henry all those years ago and since then they've all tried to emulate this but it's just a massive waste when you've got a player who's been playing so well in a certain position, you buy him based on those performanaces in that position and then as soon as he plays for us they are played in a different position. Snodgrass seems to be another example of this but it's not just new signings, the biggest failure for me was Antonio at RB. He wasn't terrible and RB has been a bit of a jinxed position at West Ham but my massive issue is that he was, Payet aside, our most influential player when we played him out wide on the right and he was a breath of fresh air so when we moved him to RB we were weak in 2 areas having lost our most effective forward and not having a suitable RB. I don't think I'll ever understand why this happened.

Re: Andre Ayew
I seem to remember when seeing his goals for Swansea he was playing on the left. So why out of position?

100% not a right winger.

Certainly not right of front three.

In fact he's left footed ain't he.

Another bilic masterwork

Re: Andre Ayew
Darby, what makes you think he's a number 10? He's hardly ever played that role. Out of his 300 odd games he's played over 75% of them on the left and most of the ones he hasn't have been since he came to England.
